Cross training workouts are usually composed of a group of individuals being led through the daily workout by a certified instructor. For example, if a certain exercise instructs the trainee to use 100 pounds, there will be a lower weight listed for less-skilled members of the class. In a situation where a certain movement pattern is too skilled for some, the instructor will provide a similar, yet easier form of the movement.

A great example is the pull-up, programmed into many cross-training workouts. If a trainee is unable to perform a pull-up, they are usually instructed in some assistive technique such as using a resistance band to propel themselves upward.

Ask anyone that frequents a cross training class and they will tell you that everyone there, from the instructors to the seasoned gym members are more than willing to help you in any way they can. Community is at the heart of what the cross-training movement is all about.
